The Secret to Freeing One’s Mind
One thing Sister Jenanah, as everyone calls her, has learned by working in a prison for over thirteen years, is that there are worse things than being physically imprisoned. When she first went to work as a Chaplain, it was with the idea that she would stay there for no more than five years, teach the women their religion and how utilize it on the outside to create a better way of life. over eight years past the five years she gave herself, watching numerous women go home, only to return, again and again; she determined that physical incarcerated is just a symptom, the real imprisonment is, imprisonment of the mind. Why do human beings who are subjected to some of the most demoralizing treatment come back, for more? On the other hand there were those woman who, mostly serving a hefty sentence; spent their time internalizing their lessons and preparing for the outside world. Once they were released they forged ahead and have been a shining example that the public do not read about because it is not sensational news for the media. Sister Jenanah has witnessed women who have spent over half their lives incarcerated; it is obvious to the observing eye that they are at home in prison. They go on vacation in the outer world and then come back home. Their minds are imprisoned, mostly due to mental, physical, and emotional abuse; some of it self imposed. However, also witnessed are women who spend their incarcerated time in school earning their degrees, AAS, BS, in some cases Master Degrees. They interacted with distinguished professors who volunteer their time to come and educate the women. When the women go home some go to work for the colleges they attended while incarcerated. The degrees they have earned do not state the facility they were in, but the university they attended. These women worked on themselves, many of them avid attendants of their religious organization, be it Islamic, Christian, Jewish, or other. They were physically incarcerated yet their mind and spirit was free. As one woman put it, they made a conscious decision to not go back to prison, and acted on that decision. They lived with purpose. Sr. Jenanah began to wonder; “How many of us, in the free world live with purpose? Are we seizing the opportunities life presents to us and forging ahead towards success? Do we take a seemingly bad situation and make the best out of it, or do we succumb to it and live lives of quiet desperation? How many of us are imprisoned in a mental rut, some of us going on vacation by reading a motivating book or attending a self improvement seminar; only to return home to our prison, our comfort zone?” She decided that she wanted to be one of the few who chose to seize the moment, and began searching for ways to improve her concept of self, her financial situation, and her zip code. Time continued to pass, and sister Jenanah realized that she had to “move right now” to begin to realize her dreams; those dreams that had become stagnate. So she began to search; and you would not believe what she found. In order to free one’s mind, a constant dose of positive, self help and improvement books must be read or listened to. And here is the biggest secret; they must be acted upon. Send her an e-mail for a list of the books you must begin with jenanah101@gmail.com, she wants to share, because she says, that is how she will continue to grow, by helping others, for she discovered that she went into the prison to teach, but she herself was taught, a very valuable lesson; mental freedom. Jenanah W Amatullah-Muqsit has been a Chaplain with the NYS Dept. of Correctional Services for over thirteen years. She is also an entrepreneur and real estate broker. Mrs. A-Muqsit is married, a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is presently attending Phoenix University On-Line School, pursueing a BS. in Organizational and Security Management. After completion she intends to earn a Master of Science Degree in Internet Marketing. One Tree Hill

In the past, the financial and societal difficulties for women who desired to start their own business were insurmountable. If these women did not come into the business venture with their own nest egg to get things started or, in the very least, financial aid from friends and family, it became near impossible to accomplish such an amazing feat. This is not to say there are not some spectacular women who achieved amazing results, but these women were more the exception than the rule. In today’s world, however, it is easier for women to initiate a small business through the resource that a business grant provides. Business grants for women are a definite necessity as more than 9 million women own businesses. All things considered, it is likely that more women would potentially own a business if the necessary financial resources were available. Even the current number of women who already own a business could benefit from grants that would allow them to expand their existing companies. Are business grants for women really available? They are. A potential candidate for these types of grants only needs to know where to locate them. The internet holds a wealth of information if one only knows where to look. For starters, a simple Google search under “Business Grants for Women” will bring back over a half a million results. For instance, the Amber Grant is a business grant for women to aid in the start up of a business. Although the grants are small (less than $1000), they can be used to purchase items such as equipment, a business web site, or business software. Basically, they are to be used for means that would benefit a business in a small way. As is the case of the Women’s Financial Fund, this online resource holds more than a connection to business grants. It also provides information and helpful tips for women starting their own business. Count-Me-In is an organization that raises money through fundraisers to aid women in beginning a business. The loans range from $500 to $10,000. Although credit history is taken into consideration, the organization focuses more the experience of the woman recipient. There are also a variety of private sources that offer smaller grants to women wishing to become entrepreneurs. Webmomz is one of these resources, and they are giving away $500 to a woman who qualifies. Applying for several of these smaller grants can give a boost to less significant aspects of a business. It is crucial to be vigilant when it comes to potential scams. Far too many people give the illusion of providing grants, only to take application fees from women who apply for the business grant. Do your research on prospective grants and make sure the one you apply for is legitimate. One point that should be noted is that, although most grants do not need to be paid back, it is important to maintain an adequate credit history. An unsatisfactory credit history may prevent one from obtaining a grant. The National Institute of Business Grants (www.Business-Grants.com) is an online resource that provides free tips and secrets on how to obtain business grants.WP Robot Wordpress Autoposter

Once upon a time in America, you could start a small business on a shoe string. A modest street vendor could build their business into a merchandise empire. If you do not believe me, look into the history of Texas Billionaire Ross Perot. Somewhere along the way, people with small start up business ideas were convinced that in order for them to get their business ideas off the ground, they would need to borrow money. People with small business ideas were convinced that there was no way a person could start and maintain a small business without first taking out a Small Business Loan. Even today, with the so-called Banking crisis and Banks tightening up on small Businesses loans, there is still a better way for the small entrepreneur to get their business ideas launched. There is actually no reason why a person with a good idea cannot start small and build their business one customer at at time; especially with the Internet and the simplicity of building a website. The advantage to financing your business venture for yourself is that you will actually own your business and you are not starting your business with a huge debt. The second thing to consider when borrowing money for a business is that when you have investors, you do not own the business and therefore, you do not have full control of every decision made for the direction of the business. You must always take the investors into consideration before making decisions that will effect the bottom line of the business. “He who pays the piper, calls the tune.” Many successful businesses started out of someone’s home or Garage. Businesses like Microsoft and Apple are perfect examples. While it is true that these mega corporations quickly went public, they started with a simple idea and that is really all it takes… a good idea and the desire to have your own business, oh yea and the willingness to put in the work. The fact is that many businesses start out as hobbies or small weekend projects. Then, the next thing you know, there is more of a demand than you were expecting and before you know it, you are applying for a business license and registering your business name. One of the biggest mistakes a lot of men and women make is they get impatient. Everyone wants to start out as big as Bill Gates is now and that is not realistic. Plus one of the joys of owning a business that you have built from the ground up is remembering what you started with. You will get a lot joy from knowing that you built your business from the ground up and that you did it all without going into debt. Carl Turner
